VR-AI Medsets - Nurse Interviews About Training Solution
Featured at a national nursing awards event through a sponsored immersive video showcasing VR‑AI Medsets designed and produced end‑to‑end by the company I founded. Secured participation from IBMers who contributed enterprise perspectives on Generative AI and Watson AI.
As a solo founder, I hired and led the teams that grew the company to high six‑figure annual recurring revenue across almost nine years (2016 - 2025), maintaining exceptional capital efficiency and sustained, client‑funded growth.
Across its lifetime, the company received only five external funding events: a low‑five‑figure unsecured loan in 2021 (2.5% APR); a low‑five‑figure pandemic response grant in 2021/2; a low four‑figure R&D rebate in 2022 despite six‑figure internal R&D investment; a low‑six‑figure secured loan in 2024 (high‑five‑figure net, equivalent to 67% APR AI calculated - aggressively amortising; £5K repayments pcm across 36 months - against a £1M+ collateral base); and a low five‑figure equity investment from a private individual in 2024, delivered in three instalments over approximately six months.
Its “Big 4” bank provided no credit facilities beyond a low four‑figure credit card in its first year. In 2025, the company was awarded a low four‑figure matched AI upskilling grant, despite applying for the maximum low five‑figure amount. Between 2020 and 2022, we submitted three unsuccessful applications to the Innovate UK grant programme for the innovation showcased in the video. Although a university spinout later (2023) reported an Innovate UK funding award for the same concept, our approach, development timeline and implementation remain independently conceived and distinct.
Despite these constraints, the company delivered consistent revenue growth and technological innovation. In 2020 and 2023, I was named inventor on two UK tech patent applications: GB2598609, covering novel content delivery architecture and GB2627475, defining an advanced VR and haptics interaction system. I am currently working on a third UK or first US (where potentially relevant prior art exists) patent application, expanding this trajectory of innovation.
After nearly nine years of trading, the company concluded operations in 2025. The main reason was prolonged capital and credit limitations; it achieved service-market fit.
